Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a treatment that involves the injection of a solution into blood vessels, usually spider veins or varicose veins on the legs. Sclerotherapy irritates the vessel wall and your body naturally removes the non-functioning vein.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Spider leg veins can be successfully treated through this technique as well as varicose veins which previously could only be treated by stripping surgery. Levels of discomfort can be experienced during the procedure but are generally well tolerable. The administration of inhaled anaesthesia can reduce pain dramatically.

The session lasts for about half an hour. It suits both male and female patients and usually does not interrupt your daily activities.

You could be required to wear a compression stocking following this treatment.
