Laser treatments

Medical lasers use precise wavelengths of light to target pigment, blood vessels or the skin’s surface. At Concept Cosmetic Medicine, every laser plan starts with a practitioner’s assessment, so the right laser and settings are chosen for your skin.

All procedures carry risks and results vary. Read about recovery and risks below.

About

About laser treatment

Different lasers do different jobs. Pigment lasers target brown spots and sun damage. Vascular lasers target redness and broken capillaries. Resurfacing lasers treat texture, fine lines and scarring. Your practitioner will recommend the type and number of sessions for your concern.

Suitability

Who it may suit

People with sun spots, uneven tone, redness, broken capillaries or textural changes.

Laser may not suit you if you’re pregnant, have a recent tan, take certain medicines, or have some skin conditions. Any skin lesion is checked by a doctor before laser treatment.

Before you decide

Recovery and risks

Every option carries risks, and your practitioner will explain them in detail before you decide.

Recovery

Depends on the laser. Laser facials have little or no downtime, and most people return to normal activities the same day. Other lasers can need up to a week of healing.

Recovery varies from person to person.

Possible risks

Redness, swelling, blistering, crusting, burns, darker or lighter patches of skin, scarring, and eye injury without proper protection, which is always used.

Book a consultation

Every treatment at Concept Cosmetic Medicine starts with an unhurried, one-on-one consultation with an experienced practitioner. You’ll talk through your concerns and goals, and leave with a clear plan built around your skin, with recovery, risks and costs explained, so you can decide with confidence.

Important information. All procedures carry risks. Results vary from person to person and are not guaranteed. Before any treatment you’ll have a consultation with a registered practitioner, who will explain the expected benefits, recovery time, possible side effects and complications, costs, and alternatives, including not having treatment. Take time to consider your decision. You may wish to seek a second opinion.
