Facial lines consultations
Lines on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes are a normal part of how faces change. A consultation with one of our practitioners explains why they’ve formed and the options that may suit you, from skincare and skin treatments to treatments that need a prescription. Our practitioners have been looking after faces in Drummoyne since 2002.
All procedures carry risks and results vary. Read about recovery and risks below.

About facial lines
Some lines appear when you move your face, such as when you frown, smile or raise your eyebrows. These are called dynamic lines, and they come from the repeated movement of the muscles underneath. Over time, as skin loses some of its collagen and elasticity, lines can stay visible when your face is at rest.
Sun exposure, smoking, genetics and skin type all affect how and when lines form. Fine lines and crepey texture are a different concern from deeper lines, and they respond to different approaches.
Your consultation

- iiAn assessment of your lines at rest and when your face moves
- iiiA discussion of your goals and what is realistic for you
- ivAn explanation of the options that may suit you, including not having treatment
- vClear information on what’s involved, recovery, risks and costs
- viTime to think it over before you decide
Depending on your assessment, treatment may or may not be recommended.

Recovery and risks

Recovery
Recovery depends on the option your practitioner recommends, if any. It can range from none for skincare to a week or more for some skin treatments. You’ll be told what to expect, and what to avoid, before you go ahead.
Recovery varies from person to person.
Possible risks
Risks vary by treatment and can include bruising, swelling, redness, discomfort, infection, an uneven or unexpected result, and rarely serious complications. Your practitioner will explain the specific risks for your situation, how they’re reduced, and what to do if a problem occurs.
Who you’ll see
You’ll see one of our experienced practitioners. Any treatment that requires a prescription is only considered after a consultation with a doctor, and our registered nurse may then carry it out.
