Eyelid Surgery - Blepharoplasty (Skin Only or Tissue-sparing)

Blepharoplasty is also commonly known as eyelid reduction surgery. Excess skin can make you look older, and in some cases, restrict your vision. By limiting the surgery to skin only, and not removing the deeper structures such as the eyelid muscles, we not only ensure a natural look but avoid the complications of a formal surgery, which includes a general anaesthetic and hospitalisation.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

At Concept Cosmetic Medicine we use a laser scalpel to remove excess skin from the eyelid. By removing “skin only” this allows us to perform eyelid reductions without any need for hospitalisation or general anaesthetic.

WHAT TYPES OF EYELID PROCEDURES ARE AVAILABLE?

LOWER EYELID SURGERY - PINCH BLEPHAROPLASTY

This involves the removal of excess skin from the lower eyelid. The amount of skin to be removed is assessed by a “pinch test”. Thus, the name of the procedure. It is the removal of skin only and so leaves the eyelid and its muscles all untouched.

UPPER & LOWER EYELID RESURFACING

This procedure is done with a resurfacing laser (Erbium or CO2). It tightens and rejuvenates the eyelid skin so that skin bags and "creping" are minimised.
